Marangu Kilimanjaro Day Hike

Kilimanjaro Mountain Day hike, you will be climbing the Tanzania Landmark through the Kilimanjaro Marangu climbing route, where you will hike from the gate to the first overnight stop for the general climb. This is from Marangu gate to Mandara Hut. You will be hiking through the rainforest twittering with birdlife and chattering, curious blue monkeys.

The climbing itinerary

Moshi town to Marangu Gate hike up to Mandara Hut then descent to Marangu gate and drive back to Moshi town

The day will begin with a drive from Moshi town to Marangu gate, up on reaching at the gate you will have to complete the national park formalities you will then starts your hike from Marangu gate to Mandara hut which will takes you 3 to 4hrs hike a distance of 8 kilometers reaching the hut, walking through the rainforest where you can enjoy the view of Maundi crater and seeing the eucalyptus trees, birds and the colobus monkeys. The canopy overhead is alive with birdsong and strange rustlings – is that a colobus and the Mongoose might scuttle ahead of you. You’ll also meet tired hikers descending from the summit. Give them a high five for effort. You will have you lunch at Mandara hut and after replenished yourself you will walk to the Maundi Crater which is a bit challenging hike enjoying the stunning Mawenzi view on the northwest while on the east is an awe view of Taveta. After this short joyful adventure, you will trek down to Marangu gate and then being picked and drive back to Moshi town.
