Day 1: Arusha to Arusha National Park - Game drives and walking safari.
Your adventure begins today! Between 8:00 and 8:30 AM, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in or near Arusha and take you to Arusha National Park. This picturesque park lies at the foot of Mount Meru and offers diverse habitats including forests, where you might spot black-and-white colobus monkeys, and excellent birdwatching opportunities. Flamingos often gather along the lakeshore, adding to the scenic beauty. After some brief game drives, you’ll enjoy a walking safari, where you may observe giraffes, buffaloes, and other wildlife from a distance. At the end of the day, relax and unwind at Mvuli Hotel or a similar lodge in Arusha.
Day 2: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire - Full-day game drives
We’ll depart from Arusha around 6:30 AM, heading to Tarangire National Park with packed lunches for the road. The park gate is roughly a 2.5-hour drive away. Upon arrival, your game drive begins. Tarangire is famous for its iconic baobab trees towering over the landscape and for the Tarangire River, which attracts some of Africa’s largest elephant herds. Keep an eye out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, lesser kudu, buffalo, oryx, eland, giraffes, and zebras. We’ll stop for a scenic picnic lunch before continuing the afternoon game drive until about 5 PM. Afterward, we’ll head to Nsya Lodge (Safari Bungalow) near Mto Wa Mbu or a similar accommodation about 45 to 60 minutes away. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the lodge.
Day 3: Lake Manyara - Morning game drives and afternoon transfer back to Arusha
Following breakfast, we’ll leave around 8:30 AM for Lake Manyara National Park, just a 30-minute drive from the lodge. Upon arrival, we’ll set off on a game drive through this lush park, where acacia and mahogany forests set a stunning backdrop. The drive continues until about 5 PM, with a break for a picnic lunch. Watch for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and blue monkeys. Lake Manyara is also famous for its elusive tree-climbing lions—though spotting them is a matter of luck. During the right season, you might see the lake’s shoreline turn pink with millions of flamingos. After the game drive, we’ll return to your hotel in Arusha, arriving before 6 PM. This marks the end of your safari journey.
