Tour Plan
Day 1: Moshi to Machame gate and hike up to Machame camp
After breakfast and briefing, we drive to Machame Gate (1,800m). The trek begins through lush rainforest filled with tropical birds, colobus monkeys, and giant fig trees. The trail is steep but rewarding.

- Elevation: 1,800m → 3,000m
- Overnight: Machame Camp
Day 2: Machame Camp – Shira Plateau
The day starts with a steady climb through moorland, where giant lobelias and groundsels dominate. We ascend above the forest line to the open Shira Plateau, with stunning views of Mt. Meru in the distance.

- Elevation: 3,000m → 3,850m
- Overnight: Shira Camp
Day 3: Shira Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
Today we practice the principle “climb high, sleep low”. The trail ascends to Lava Tower (4,600m) before descending to the spectacular Barranco Valley, home to the famous giant senecios.

- Elevation: 3,850m → 4,600m → 3,950m
- Overnight: Barranco Camp
Day 4: Barranco Camp – Karanga Valley
A highlight of the Machame Route is the Barranco Wall. Though it looks intimidating, our guides help you scramble up safely. Afterward, descend into Karanga Valley and rest before the final push.

- Elevation: 3,950m → 4,200m
- Overnight: Karanga Camp
Day 5: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
The trail gradually ascends to Barafu, meaning “ice” in Swahili. This base camp prepares us for the midnight summit attempt. Get an early dinner and sleep before the climb.

- Elevation: 4,200m → 4,600m
- Overnight: Barafu Camp
Day 6: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Around midnight, we begin the final ascent under starlight. The path leads to Stella Point (5,739m) and finally Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa! After celebrations and photos, descend to Mweka Camp.

Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi
A gentle descent through rainforest leads to Mweka Gate, where successful climbers receive certificates. Drive back to Moshi for a hot shower and a well-deserved rest.
