Begin your journey with a classic 6 days Marangu Route trek to the Roof of Africa with overnight stays in comfortable mountain huts and expert mountain guides to support you every step of the way.

After celebrating your summit success, transition into a 5 day safari that takes you through the iconic landscapes of Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. From elephants and lions to tree-climbing lions and flamingos, this tour offers the perfect balance of challenge, comfort, and discovery.

Tour Plan

Day 1

Arrival in Tanzania – Transfer to Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where you’ll be met by a representative from Kilimanjaro Lifetime Adventures. After a warm welcome, you’ll transfer to your hotel in Moshi for rest. In the evening, meet your mountain guide for a full pre-climb briefing and gear check.

Day 2

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Your Kilimanjaro climb begins! After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate (1,870m) for registration. Trek through lush rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m), keeping an eye out for colobus monkeys and tropical birds.

  • Overnight: Mandara Hut
Day 3

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Continue through heath and moorland, with scenic views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720m) for rest and acclimatization.

Day 4

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

The landscape turns stark as you cross the alpine desert zone on your way to Kibo Hut (4,700m). Rest and prepare for the early morning summit attempt.

  • Overnight: Kibo Hut
Day 5

Summit Day – Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and back to Horombo Hut

Depart just after midnight for the summit push. Reach Gilman’s Point at sunrise and continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), Africa’s highest point. After taking in the views, descend to Horombo Hut for well-earned rest.

Day 6

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate – Transfer to Moshi

Complete your trek with a descent through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. After receiving your summit certificate, return to Moshi for a relaxing evening.

Day 7

Moshi to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive. The park is famous for its large herds of elephants, towering baobabs, and seasonal swamps. After your safari, head to Karatu for the night.

Day 8

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

Travel through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park. Enter through the Naabi Hill Gate and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the vast central plains.

Day 9

Full-Day Serengeti Safari

Spend a full day exploring the wildlife-rich Serengeti. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration or resident predators on the hunt.

Day 10

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Optional early morning game drive in Serengeti before heading to Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the world’s largest unbroken caldera for game viewing, including black rhinos, lions, and flamingos.
  • Overnight: Karatu / Lake Manyara area lodge
Day 11

Lake Manyara Game Drive

Enjoy a final morning safari in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its diverse birdlife and tree-climbing lions. After the game drive, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) for your departure. End of Tour
